How to Shoot a Basketball
Learning how to shoot a basketball is all about practice. You can learn techniques and talk specifics all day but when it comes down to becoming a great shooter, you just need to shoot and practice situational plays as much as you can. Growing up I used to shoot around but at the end of every practice I would make myself make 50 free-throws. They didn't need to be in a row but I wouldn't go inside till I made them all. This is probably why I was one of the best free-throw shooters. It had a lot to do with coaching and practice. My coach taught me how important follow through is and clearing everything else. If every shot looks the same they will go in every time. There is no reason for them not to. I knew that I would never end up in the NBA because I just can't jump. If you do have these required skills then you will end up doing very well.
There are also some benefits from learning how to shoot a basketball. If you get fouled you have confidence at the free-throw line. Other teams will be conservative about fouling you because they are just free points. My coaches growing up always said that games are won at the free-throw line.
